Microphone stand

If you need to set up a microphone stand and the sound equipment for a conference, don’t wait until the last minute to do it. Even though there may not be a problem or any difficulties, you should not assume that it will be as easy as you think.

Here is what you should do to set up a microphone stand:

• Place the microphone stand near the person or the instrument that needs amplification. The mic stand should not be placed directly in front of a speaker because there could be some feedback issues.

• Turn the clamp in a counter clockwise motion in order to adjust the stand’s height. Makes sure you know how tall the speaker will be in order to put it at its optimal height. The stand should be slightly lower than the height of the speaker or instrument being used. Once the level is at the right place, all you need to do is tighten the clamp and you are ready to go.

• Attach the microphone by sliding it into the holder. If using a microphone with a cord, make sure the cord does not get wrapped around the microphone stand. This could cause somebody to trip or the stand to fall.

• Next, switch on the speakers and check the audio levels of the microphone.
