Wireless microphones

When speaking in public, many choose to use wireless microphones. Speakers who check their microphone out beforehand will successfully complete their presentation. On the other hand, those who do not test out the microphones are more likely to get a rude awakening when they realize the mic is not working like it should.

When choosing wireless microphones, follow these steps:

• Check out the room – If the room you will be speaking in is large, wireless microphones are often good choices. But if the room is on the smallish size, you might rather want to not use any kind of microphone at all.

• Is there a battery pack? – These wireless microphones are commonly used by entertainers. The battery pack can be inconspicuously attached to your waist band and you will be able to move around the room.

• Look into lavalieres – A lavaliere is one of the smaller wireless microphones that you are able to clip to your lapel or shirt. These wireless microphones are often used by people who are conducting sit-down interviews. These microphones help prevent “popping” sounds that are prevalent in some handheld mics. These are most effective when they are pinned about six inches below your chin.

• Locate the right frequency – Some of the more expensive wireless microphones have systems that are able to locate the right microphone frequency immediately and automatically, but some of the less expensive types require the user to do so.

By looking into all of these things in your wireless microphones before you speak or present, you will be able to greatly minimize the risk of experiencing problems.
